Cybersecurity Workforce Development

Jason Hite, Daoine Centric's Founder & Chief People Strategist, will be a panel member

at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) workshop on cybersecurity workforce development on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL.

The workshop will help in carrying out a study called for in Executive Order 13800, "Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure." With respect to cybersecurity workforce development, the Executive Order directs the Secretary of Commerce, in conjunction with the Secretary of Homeland Security and in consultation with other Federal Departments and Agencies, to assess the scope and sufficiency of efforts to educate and train the American cybersecurity workforce of the future. This includes cybersecurity-related education curricula, training, and apprenticeship programs, from primary through higher education. The order also calls for a report to the President with findings and recommendations regarding how to support the growth and sustainment of the Nation's cybersecurity workforce in the public and private sectors.
